Grumman G-164 Turbo AgCat made from MPF
Not quite sure the appropriate forum to put this in, but here goes!
The other month I purchased the Dynam Cessna 188 AgWagon cropduster and have been loving it. Well this got me to wanting an AgCat in the same size as the AgWagon. Since no one offers what I was looking for and having an abundance of Model Plane Foam I decided to build my own.
I will be building a replica of my cousins turbine powered AgCat with the wide tail and long wings with Hershey tips.
Wanting the plane to be the same scale as the Dynam plane; the span of the top wing came out to be 60". I also had a spare Turnigy Easy Match G15 810kv motor available.
So with the scale set I imported the 3-views into CAD and started the plans and parts.
I used a combination of light ply and model grade ply to make a central "box" that everything will be anchored to. Then from there I added formers and ribs.
I am now in the process of adding the foam skin to the outside. But ran out of glue and have to get some more.
After I'm finished with this one and make sure it flies OK I may end up building the radial version.
