Geared or direct drive for 3D

Guys,

What is better for 3D flying; geared or direct drive? I'm building a Foamy Factory 300 36" and thought about installing an Axi 2212/34 and 11x3.8 prop. I've also got a Himax 2015/4100 in another plane I could try too.

Thanks,
Mac8

both should work. i am sure you know the himax would have to be geared though. use 5.5 or 6.6 to 1 with a 12x6 slow fly prop.

Thanks, I've got 3 2015/4100 with D gears and 2 2025/4200 with C gears all perform great in my aerobatic planes. I'm just trying to see what most people prefer.
