But I must say I am impressed with the rx thus far
Probably the wrong thread for this discussion. I'll move it to http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...ostcount=34345

Indeed, let's keep this thread for the original V8/D Frsky line...

My DJT module NOT beeping when D8R rx start getting out of range. I use not modyfied Turnigy 9X and DJT & D8r combo for some time already, but after few rebulds of my quadcopter my DJT tx module stopped beeping. I cant get why? Djt beeps on power on, beeps when I do range check ok. My range is poor only 500m in the center of city 100m obove the ground and NAZA failsafe kicks in without any beeping warning! I started using 1.5w 5.8g VTX maybe powerfull vtx block some telemetry?

Should I use any wifi booster?

Anyone know if you can damage a telemetry receiver by using only one antenna with it?
I'm on holiday, want to fly, and one of my d4rii antennas has disappeared.

No tips told you to not go over 5-700mW with 1.2G onboard with Frsky?
Also, switching to a D series receiver would make you even happy

Hehe, yeah of course I should start to read what to buy first. But I had a good opportunity to get the 1.2g, 1500mw to a good price. What could go wrong was my approach ;-)

Reporting My results. Made 2 Dipole antennas. Attached to my Bixler.

The area I fly in is Urban/City. Bad noise floor. With a 5db antenna and the folded dipoles that frsky sells has been getting us out to 2km with signal in the upper 40's sometimes low 50's.

Put the homemade dipoles on and this morning was getting 56-59 at 2km. Pretty nice boost.

Will be testing this out in the desert tomorrow and we will see what low interference gets me out to.

Highly recommend making your own dipoles.

What's the difference between the original and your homemade dipoles? In theory you cannot improve a dipole if all the energy is leaving, and you do not want a directional antenna?
