Airfield, eh? That would be very good to see; happy to see that NP actually has an interest in staying alive, and is finally getting something worth buying.

I sincerely hope this is the first of much to come.

Well well well! Maybe now FMS will come out with a version 2 of their 1440mm F4U? It may take a competitor to make them see that there is a market for more than just another P-51! Hopefully.

Airfield IS still Nitroplanes, correct? Not concerned whether or not it's made by FMS or StarMax or whoever...... concerned that our choice of vendors, here in the States, doesn't shrink. And it is important, of course, that what they have to offer flies and looks good, AND has a source of parts.

Not asking too much, is that?

Honestly, with FMSs recent obsession with mostly P-51s, it will be nice to see a competitor come out with different and more interesting WWII aircraft! Hopefully the quality is on par with FMS. And maybe it will get FMS to at least upgrade their older non P-51 models. One can hope.

I bought a UniqueModels Corsair, as I can't bring myself to deal with BananaHobby.
So far, the model looks extremely well done.

But, you can never have enough Corsairs

As it stacks up, this one will be a direct competitor to FMS and to be sold by Nitro Planes. NP has had it's downfalls too but, it is what it is. I wouldn't be afraid to order from either of them but aware that something might go awry.

I have an A-rc plane but it's sold by Hobby King who has an exclusive to market it. It's very handsome and true in appearance, a strong point for A-rc models.

So many of the new Corsairs coming out are of the F4U-4. It had a late war record and served in Korea also. The gray version, in service, was employed by the Kansas Naval Reserve station at Olathe, Kansas.

Thanks for the information.
I understand BH and NP ... The lesser of 2 evils, rock and a hard place.
My bride described them as "the used car salesman of RC planes today".

It was much nicer back in the 70's .....

Ah, your "bride" said it well..! Yes, the '70s era in R.C. had more grass roots enthusiasm and much less with the gross sales pitches. It seems another world now.

Yes, local hobby shops, catalogs in the mail (fax machines if you were lucky enough) and a new company...Tower Hobbies or something like that.
