Rules is Rules
Found this while scanning the Callisto 82 article from Model Aviation's October 1982 issue.

Foam FF Turned RC Sloper
Don Edberg, anybody remember him? I read a lot of his stuff and will be re-reading it again along with several other columnist like Al Diog also mentioned in this article.
Anyway Don took a foam hand chuck and turned it into a sloper. A C/L model was also converted to slope showing that there is a lot of ingenuity in the soaring arena or boredom. ![]() ![]() Joe |

I remember both Don Edberg and Col. Thacker. I met Col Thacker at the 1974 SOAR Nats and Don Edberg at Visalia about 20 years ago. In the early 90's, I used to take pictures at the nats for Don to use in his RCM column. I last saw him about 10 years ago when he came to Huntsville on company business. Don Vickers and I used to meet him for supper when he was in Huntsville. I also met Al Doig at the 1980 nats where I shared my tent with him.

Carl Goldberg 1982 Nats
I met Carl Goldgerg at the 1982 Nats. I had just finished flying 2-meter and was changing the winglets for the Standard class wing tip when Carl stopped to discuss the winglet. I put the winglet back on the Spica and spent an enjoyable few minutes explaining how they worket. I didn't know anybody was taking pictures until I received the photo in the mail a few weeks later. Unfortunately, I have forgotten who took the pictures.
