The nice thing is that the plans can be downloaded for free and the model is easy to build off of them. Some of the other planes I have in mind will be a little more work but considering how much a kit would be it'll be worth it.

As I mentioned I want to build a Jr Skylark which is another model I had when I was younger but never flew. Not even sure what ever happened to it. I've wanted to score a Jr. Skylark or Jr. Falcon kit but they go for a pretty penny. I REALLY wanted the Jr. Skylark kit that was part of the Carl Goldberg estate but figured it would be pricey. I gave up when it went over $100 and I believe it went for something like $152!

Here's the link to Dave Fritzke's site where he has plans posted for the Junior Skylark and Junior Falcon (along with many others) that are already tiled for printing. For what the oritinal kits sell for you can build several for the same price.

Thanks, already aware of it. That's where I got the plans I just printed off. I had no intention of building an expensive OOP kit, would just be cool to have it. I bought a CG Lil Jumpin' Bean C/L kit about a year ago, had one as a kid. Got a pretty good deal on it too. IIRC it was around $50 and it came with a muffled Babe Bee engine! Of course back in the day the kit and engine would have been less than $10! Also recently scored a vintage Baby Ringmaster kit. Don't think I ever had a RM but my older brother did, the .35 size.

There is a forum member here named rubbernecker that sells lazer cut short kits that are based on the LaStick. I bought a couple of them after I started scratch building mine and the lazer cutting is very nice and the prices are great! I'll try and snap some pics of the kit.

Great links! All of these were designed for larger RC gear and weight these days you can scale things up or down to hone them to suit.

Swap meets of course. Ebay has them from time to time but be prepared to pay. I sold my used TD .010 and TD .020 last week. The TD .020 went for less than $50 but the .010 went for $91.

I doubt that you'll be able to build one. I just checked Cox Int'l and all they have is the glow head, needle valve, a few other misc parts. No crankcase, crankshaft, piston, cyl, etc. You might be able to find the missing parts elsewhere but it'll probably cost way more in the long run than just buying one complete.

That's a high price for a TD .010 unless it's new in package. A Pee Wee .020 can always be had for much less as they were more common. If you're patient you should be able to find a TD .010 for a hundred or so, a Pee Wee .020 for $40 or $50.

If you do a search for Cox Pee Wee .020 or Cox Tee Dee .010 you should be able to find some. The TD .010 will definitely take some patients but they do come up. The Pee Wee's are a lot easier to find and a lot less expensive.
