Mike,

How you been?

Why don't you come out to Prado tomorrow and fly in the Classic Pattern contest???

Bring what you got to fly and I'll walk you through it.

All I have that will fly a sequence is the Sequence, or the Inverza.

Was at the Prado SBDO field yesterday, flying something new and secret. Not a pattern plane but....

Unfortunately I am headed to Miramar manana for that dang airshow. Darn! Next time! Bring back first place Doug!

I really like the air brake on the landing gear, great idea. Have you had a chance to try it out? Is it noticeably effective?

Doug won yesterday's Classic Advanced and his approach speeds were very manageable using his airbrakes. A very nice display of flying from him, the model flies beautifully.

Hey Podner,

well done! Congratulations on your win and re-fitted retract air brakes.

I do not tire of seeing that beautiful C4.

I called for Doug a couple of times for Doug on Saturday, and I can say that the airbrakes really made a tangible difference in the landing characteristics of the C4E. I have flown this aircraft (and run it off the end of the runway, much to my chagrin), and Doug's well engineered solution is a 10 in my book.

Thanks Robert and Chris. Really nice of you comment on your observations. I appreciate it.

So I can now tell you that the changes made to the C4e were really worth the effort. I flew 5 flights on Saturday including 4 in front of the judges and I am very pleased with the way the C4e slows down for approach now. The plane does not pitch or have any other adverse effects when the gear is dropped. It just slows down and allows me to make better landings.

My goal was to increase my landing scores and the proof in the numbers. My average landing score on Saturday was 9.19 including three 10's!

In contrast, my averages in the last three contests were 8.36, 5.08 (a dreaded "0") and 8.13.

I'm very happy and would recommend the air brakes to anybody who needs to bleed a little more speed.

Doug
