I picked the TG Interceptor as my winter project. Wood Sheeting is ordered and I hope to have it on the bench soon. I am undecided on what power system to use.

I have Jet Fan V2 90mm nib and I have a dynamax fan that I could convert to electric.

Jet Fan in the picture looks lost in the fuse. I plan on using an 11s 5000 pack.

Will the Jet Fan produce enough power or I am better off with a Dynamax set up ?

I would think the dynamax would be better here. That is a huge airframe.

dyna for sure. the lil 90mm would need to fly wot all the time.

Nice kit, wish they still made it. Last I heard was that Dynamic Balsa picked up Top Gun Jets kits and were going to start bringing them out again. I believe they may have the F-15 out. Did the bring the interceptor out again?

Rainer put a jetfan 90 into a F-86 the same size as a BVM F-86 . The setup he put in it produced about 11 pounds of thrust. Also Rainer has stated they are work on larger fans in the 110 to 130 range.

Managed to find some building time and installed the fuse formers and nose gear bulkhead. Nose gear steering servo is installed. West Coast epoxy mixed with chopped fiberglass was used to glue in the formers.

Retracts I plan to use Spring Air with Robart Struts.

Tommorrow I plan on installing the intake duct work and dynamax fan.

I designed the interceptor. It was designed for the dynamax fan to begin with. It will drop right in. You should see about a 4lbs increase in thrust over the slimer version.

Managed to install duct work today. 2 hours of trimming and fitting, the end result was worth it. Turned out nice.

Converting one of my ICDF to electric. New fan shroud , and Tam's Motor housing converison kt is order. I am undecided on what motor to order for a 11s set up.

Are you going to convert the Dynamax or use a different fan? I have converted a number of the Dynamax fans and the conversion works very well. I am getting about 15 lbs thrust on 12S with a 630KV outrunner @120 amps and 5+KW. These are wonderful flying planes. I am sure you will really like.

Converting a Dynamax fan. Tam's Center housing conversion was delivered today.
New outer fan shroud is on its way and couple new fan blades.

Fan is installed. I drilled oversize holes in the mounting plate. Made up shims from 1/32 plywood and nut plates. I will be able to move the fan around to get it centered up perfectly in the duct work.

Hey go4it keep your cg in mind, to get a good balance in my interceter I had to mount the fan back just in front of the rear former,you will need. To extend. The intake, just a heads up. Paul

I was considering mounting the servos in the tail to help move the cg aft. I will go with your advice and move the fan aft.
