Blaster 3 Spread Tow Carbon Wing Build

Hello everyone,
My first time posting on here! Hope this goes well!
Recently got a new Blaster 3 with the spread tow carbon wings and am going to share the build with you!
To start with, I'd like to thank Barry from Kennedy Composites for all his help with my plane selection and compliment him on how quickly he got my order to me! 2 days after I ordered it! Nice - He answered all my questions and was a pleasure to do biz with him! After getting this plane in my hands,,,,,, pick up the phone and order yourself one now!!!! Unbelievable quality at a great price!! Thanks again Barry.
I will start with the parts!
They all came in one box, no dings of dents and the items were packed in foam, air bubble wrap and news paper. Here are some pictures of the packaging!

Gear

After seeing how easy the build should be, I decided to use the basic build instructions and hardware that came with the kit. Tweak it here and there!
For my gear I will use 4 or the 285mg servos (because I had them in stock) and the Smart Lipo 450 ma battery packs that Kennedy Composites sales. These batteries are hot!!! He just got a fresh batch in!
Here is a close up of the stock gear and the battery. I got two more batteries later and they were a bit different (better) as you can see in later pictures!

Control horns

Mounted the wing to the fuselage, two screws very easy and feels very secure! Laid out the locations for the control horns in the rudder. I like to get the location locked in and use some masking tape to block out the cut area. The tape keeps unwanted scratches and adhesives from ending up where they aren't wanted. a small amount of 20 min. epoxy and let it dry! Remove the tape and admire your work! lol

Wing Control horns

Same thing on the wing control horns - measure, get your locations, tape till you have your area boxed then cut with the razor knife! Test fit them both and hit it with the 20 min epoxy. I then slid an old push rod thru the holes on the control horns to line them up same height and in line. Tape in place and let it dry!

Elevator

Time for the elevator stabilizer to go into place. Using the measurements recommended in the instructions I found the location of the stabilizer and marked it with tape. Then got it squared to the wings / rudder and marked the center lines on the tape to make the install easier when I glued it in place. The stabilizer was a bit loose on the smaller end of the tube so I installed some fine thread to tighten it up! Took me 3 times with the thread to finally get it right! Too much the first two times. Trial and error! I used a bit of Zap A Gap to hold the thread in place. I used the 20 min epoxy to glue the stabilizer in place. Checked the alignment and cleaned up the excess glue. Checked its position TWICE after I glued it!! needs to be perfect!

Rudder Time!

The rudder went on pretty easy. Some tape to get the location right! I checked with a square the cuts in the rudder and the centerline of the boom. Removed the rudder and scuffed the glue area lighty with some very fine sand paper! 20 min epoxy and slide it back into place. A quick check with the square again and let it dry! I used a little extra epoxy after it was dried in place along the seams for added strength - my rudders take a beating with my graceful landings!

Radio Gear next!

Well its time to put some radio gear in this thing.
4 or the DS285MG Digital Hi-Speed Sub-Micro MG Servos, one of the Smart Lipo 450ma batteries and the RX700 7-Channel 2.4GHz FHSS-1 Receiver with the case removed.
I taped the pushrods into place near where they should be and began laying out the position of everything while trying to get the CG as close to the recommended 80mm as possible.
I taped the fuselage pod platform with tape and then wrapped each servo with tape. I slide the antennas and receiver back up into the cubby with a bit of foam to lock it in tight but still make it removable - I taped the antenna to the bottom of the wing. I put the battery in the front end and then taped the servos in place and checked CG. It was near perfect so I glue the servos in place! Super glue on the servos. I super glued the wires from the servo to the tops of the servos to give it a clean look! I labeled each servo and plugged them into the receiver!
The battery just gets scotch tape for now!

Push rods!

I laid out the 2 carbon push-rods and super glued the push-rods to the clevises on one end only. I got the sleeves where I liked them and placed a drop of super glue about every 2 inches. I routed the the sleeves under the wing and into the fuselage and lined them up with their servos. Slid the push-rods in and got them cut to length for the clevises at the servo end. Super glued them. I then put some epoxy on them after for added strength. The flap push-rods went in easy as well but had to build some bridges for the wires to line up and not flex, super glued those in place. Hooked up the servos! Its getting closeeeeeeeeee nowwwwwww

Whiskers

The whiskers were easy. A drop of super glue on the pod (NOT ON THE WING) holds the antenna at just the right angle - I tipped them down from the wing just a bit but kept them angled up enough so they wont drag on landing!
