A lot of people own more than one brand of radio but generally I think most of us consider ourselves a user of one particular brand. I thought it would be fun to see what the percentages are. I use Airtronics myself. That wasn't always the case. It may not be the case down the road either but that's where I am today. How about you?

Interesting.... I was sort of expecting to see Spektrum with the largest slice of the pie. Maybe those guys will chime in later.

Spektrum for Air.
Futaba for Surface.
Love both.

Can't answer really because I own and use Futaba (FM) AND Spektrum (2.4GHz). How can I consider myself a user of just one of them ?

If the question was "What is the most recent radio you bought ?" then I could answer that .

Spektrum, never, ever wins a popularity poll on these forums. Always Hitec or Futaba, usually by a good margin.

I'm a multi-user as well. Hitec, Futaba and Spektrum. Probably use Hitec the most though.

Well, do you use one more than the other? Do you tend to like one more than the other? Would you be more inclined to buy another radio of one brand more than the other? If so, vote that way. If not, don't worry about it. It's not some deep meaningful poll anyway. It's just for fun.

The real question may be not what Brand of radio do you use, but what brand of module do you use in it. E.G. Spektrum DSM2 module in a futaba radio, or FreeSky in a Turnigy

I use to fly Spektrum but I had so many problems (brownout crashes) that I decided to change brands. Now that I have all Futaba FASST I have never had another radio relates crash. Futaba seams to really be gaining popularity lately especially for those with expensive aircraft.


I have a buddy that used Airtronics and that seams to be a very trouble free system.

Not so much for me.... I don't care if you use 2.4 or 72mhz or ham bands or whatever else people use in other parts of the world. People generally choose a brand of radio because they like the way it looks, the way it feels, its features and or a combination of all of those at a particular price point. And then some people are just brand loyal.

When I first came into this hobby all those years ago it was Futaba and Kraft radios that dominated the local clubs. I'm just curious to see how things have evolved now that we have so many other quality choices.
