Really. It seems like all you know are weedies from your gallery. When you start running higher HP and RPM engines you need the extra protection that the oil gives you. My modded motors are pumping out Dyno'ed 7 HP. 8 oz. per gallon is low, some are using 10oz. per gallon.

If you want to see 80+ get a 2818 round tips , back cut 1/8" and cupped ABC PROP from Chris at dasboata tell him what it's for . ( don't get saw monster right now it will be your enemy )
You'll need a 90* hot pipe ( your pipe ant gonna cut it ) and can you tell me from the back of the boat to the center of the spark plug mersuerment is ?
I can help you get it popping !!!
I was tault by the BEST :-)
I've got 2 classone / Rico and 3 36" Sprintcats
You'll need to understand prop and STRUT adjustments if you EVER WANT TO SEE 80
Good luck

Well Guys put GPs in it and its hitting 51mph on a 67mm prop, sounds like I could go up on the prop size as engine revving high

I don't say much cuz there's so many little changes that add up and once you make those changes and Tweeks they pay off Big. It's great to give advice on a particular prop , but unless the guy can bolt it on and see instant improvement , which with a dragcat is very rarely . Running 80+ with that boat isn't as easy as selecting a prop. But since he's only at 51mph then a sharpened and balanced 2716/15* could get mid 60's to low 70's fairly easy if you spent a little time tuning and adjusting strut.

Guys im new to all this, I don't even know what size a 2716/15* prop is, all I know it came with a Prather 275 which it does not like and I went down to an octura 467 that gives me 50mph. The distance from center of the spark plug to the back of boat is 13.5 inches and the center line of the prop is an inch lower than the center of the tunnel, hope this helps, would like to get into the 60mph bracket so any help would be appreciated, if you listen to the motor in the vid would you say its revving too high?
Thanks
Steve

What size is this motor? A Zenoah and Homelite can push a Prather 275 prop no problem. It certainly isn't 25cc or 30 cc.That would explain the funky oil ratio. You want to go faster than 50 mph then get the new Zenoah G320.

Steve ,I looked up the oil your using and it says it's for motorcycles and scooters, nothing mentioned about using it in marine engines. I did find Castrol 2 cycle outboard oil for premix or injection engines.Maybe that's what you should be using. http://productsforyou.castrol.co.nz/...-Outboard-2T/2

If it is a Zenoah then he shouldn't have a problem using a Prather 275 prop with no problem. It's more Hp than a Homelite which I have and use a Prather 275 prop. A Zenoah G260 is more than 4.5 hp with a tuned exhaust. I suspect he bogged down the engine with 16:1 oil ratio. LOL

I don't think so txt. High HP engines run better with smaller diameter props, 67-70mm.
