Is it my imagination or is rcgoups.com getting slower every day.???

6AM this morning it was so slow I gave up. Other sites were fine so it's not my connection.

It has slowed for me too lately, but has been fine this morning.. (I have a 3Mb cable connection, so I notice the difference)..

RC groups was completely unavailable for several hours last night.

Am starting to get the dreaded -- SERVER IS BUSY message! Thought all that had been cleared up a few months ago. Well , will have to go back to the old -- TV.

I visit several dozen websites every day. RC Groups is the only site I visit that is having busy server problems. This is a popular website, and with good reason. A key to keeping this popularity is to expand the capabilities of the site to handle increased traffic.

I hope that this customer satisfaction issue is high on someone's priority list.

It's so slow sometimes that I just give it up for a while. The 60 second limit on searches is also an irritant and I'm sure related to the same capacity issue.

What's it going to take to get past these limitations?

Money, what else? I, like most people here, am quick to notice a slowdown but not too quick on reaching into my own pocket and upgrading my membership to Bronze, Silver or Gold. So I'll just notify the appropriate parties of a slowdown but then hold back on the criticism or asking pointed questions because I know the answer... upgraded servers, additional bandwidth etc. = money.

I love this place. Perhaps it is all that free bandwidth being used by those hosting off of the rchomepage.com site (myself included!)?

Well fprintf, you got me there. I'm a freeloader too.

How much money are we talking about to upgrade the services? I don't know. Site Managers?

I simply asked a question...I did not criticise or ask a pointed question(what ever that is) and if you'll notice...I had no problem reaching into my pocket.

I've had trouble too. Sometimes, when I access this site, it says the site is busy.

I have been getting the "please try again later" a lot. Perhaps I should look into upgrading. Money well spent I'm sure. I really enjoy this group.

As I understand it, this site actually makes money by selling advertising space to various hobby suppliers. As such I would class it as a commercial enterprise, and I am somewhat disinclined to donate to its upkeep.

If this site is making money from us, the users, supporting the advertisers, it is good business sense to upgrade the servers whenever (or a bit before) necessary, in order to keep us, the users, coming back for our hit
