Yes, we have to find out for ourselves....The offset mixer might be a slight improvement, but in reality I think we just have to accept the limits of the aircraft and move on. I have the V120D02s V2 on the way, I should have bought new tyres, but that can wait.

hi guys, I am really glad to be a member of this forum otherwise I would be lost. i am learning a lot. i checked the forum about my problem but couldn't find the exactly same problem that i am facing now. problem is range. if the heli away from the tx 1 meter than it lost the signal. weird. I checked the tx with v911 so no problem with v911 but have problem with 9116 . I have full battery for heli and tx. please dont tell me I need a new pcb : )

Hopefully this isn't a repost, but I came across this wacky z-bend 90 degree flybar mod. I have another flybar coming in and really want to give this a try.

Apparently the 9X can be bound to the V912's pcb. That is really great news!

I'm really impressed by the Turnigy 9x. Purchased it for $54 + shipping from HobbyKing. Have added backlight (for visual aid), 2650 mah 11.1 volt 1C lipo (instead of using alkaline or rechargeable 1.5 v batteries). Also I have purchased a usb wireless simulator adapter that allows me to use my 9x transmitter instead of a tethered Tx. All of these were fairly cheap purchases but if you had to do one of them I would recommend flashing the er9x software on your 9x.

I've been able to use the 9x on V911 heli, V929 quad, DIY quad and on my 450 heli. The only heli that I have not been able to use it on is the 9116.

I have ordered the V912 pcb and when it arrives I will install it on the 1st of 2 9116's. I have a passion for the 9116 since it was my first 4ch heli and I want to be able to use the 9x on it and all of my future birds!

Hi guys 'n' gals,
The 180 BB "A" & "B" motors finally arrived along with a few spare brush assy's.

I was surprised at the way you are supposed to be able to do a quick change of the brushes.
You'll need to heat up your trusty soldering iron to do the change & have a steady hand.

They are nothing like the S 16D's at all, but then I didn't expect them to be, what with them being a whole lot smaller etc.

The only thing I can see that is different, is that one motor, "A"?, has it's pinion in about the same position as the stock one.
The other, "B"?, has it slightly further down the shaft.
Naturally, the +ve & -ve wires are changed over.

NB: The "A" motor runs clockwise (similar to the 9116) & is a lot slower in RPM than the "B", that runs anti-clockwise.
This is looking from the pinion end.

I tried to see if they had the stated ball bearings in them but could not verify.
There's no play at all, so they may be good in that respect.
There are no air vents/openings in the motors. Completely sealed motors.
They sound & run fine after a quick brush bed in.
Oh yes...The brushes have a similar shape as the stock motors.
Both sides are higher than the centre, which appears to be flat, not curved.
They might take a little more than 5 mins to bed in.

Bit disappointed re; the brush size (compared to the commutator width) & the supposedly, "quick change" feature.

Both have the "standard" 8 tooth pinion fitted.

See attached pics for details & the comparisons of the brushes & springs.

They might be O.K. for a while but I'll keep working on my S 16D's.

It sounds as though you may need to check all the solder joints on the main PCB & the small daughter/Rx boards.

The craftsmanship leaves a little lot to be desired.

Just be careful when you do this, as too much heat for too long & you'll lift the copper tracks off the board/s.

I take it that it binds O.K.?

ops..I think the I explained the problem a little bit wrong I realized that after you said "bind".. problem is : it binds when the tx is close to heli but if when it is away from the tx even 1 meter the connection is lost, the red light on PCB flashes , tries to bind and if I take the heli close to tx then it binds again. I checked the soldering on PCB.resolder them. still same problem. thank you

O.K. Try this...
Turn both off, turn Tx on & while it's beeping, turn the Heli on.
Be quick.
You should have a steady red LED on the heli.

I have tried that..i got the steady LED but when the tx away from the heli i lost the signal

My 180A Pro motor has at least 4 ventilation slots each side. Perhaps mine is a different motor....Pro option?
