Hi Im a noob here so please go gental on me . Iv bought 4x 600mAh 1S 35-70c nano-tech li-po to use on a small quad, Now my question is can i charge these at a higher rate than 600mAh ie 800mAh or 1000 Mah on my charger , Any help would be nice, thanks in advance

i wouldnt go any higher then 1amp
also you can charge them in parallel if you have a bunch of them

I would have no reservation whatsoever charging them at up to 3 amps (5C). Most of the Nanotechs are rated for 10C charge and some even 15C.

i usually charge lipos at half their capacity, i use 2200 mah nanotech, as i noticed that they give more power and last longer then when i charge them with more current, they are rated for 10c but i would never try that, that is my opinion, max current i use is full capacity of battery in your case that would be 600 mAh

Iv got a cheap Imax B6, Iv made a little parallel charger cable 3 female JST to a Tamiya Connector ,
I know im being a bit cheeky but.... whats the best way to charge my cells, Would i do Li-po 3 cell, @ 600mAh or Li-po 3 cell @1800mAh????

If you made a parallel cable your charge is LiPo 1S at 1.8 amps, a 1C charge.

But I would go up to at least 3.6 amps, a 2C charge.

Your charger would support 5 amps but I wouldn't go there as I don't like pushing any charger to it's limit. The batteries certainly could take it though.

Nicely done on the adapter.

Since your adapter connects the cells in parallel, simply add capacity and charge as a single 1S pack. For 1C rate, charge at 1800mA. For 2C, 3600mA, etc...

So you charge a 2200mah pack a 1.1A?

Waste of time, no pack has any issues with 1C (heck the 18650 cells i use in torches have no issues with 1C) and any decent one will be fine with 2C no troubles.

Minimum 1C, maximum whatever the pack states, maybe a bit less than that if it is a cheap pack (I dont think I would charge nano-techs at 10C, but would have no problems with 5C).

desertstaker, like i said that is what i observed, slower i charge them they last more, since i can fly my funcub approx 5 min on 2200 nanotech ,additional minute or so matter to me. Of course that charging them with 1c or more wont harm them, for example once i was in rush and charged them with 5 amps what is maximum on my charger flight time was around 4 minutes per battery (mixed throttle) , maybe i am wrong but for me they last longer if i charge them with 1/2c

Low charge rates are good once in a while for a good balance charge,it gets the cells very close in voltage,otherwise i'm not bother'd.

Longer flights ≠ last longer.

The reason that a lower charge rate results in a longer flight is that you achieve a more complete charge. More complete charge has been empirically demonstrated to result in fewer usable cycles than charging to a lower termination voltage. As such, lower charge rate can result in lower battery life (# of useful cycles).

Just a Little up date to my home made Charger cable gone form a 3 way to a 6 way, charged at 2C took 42mins to charge 3 cells @ 3600mAh,

Just a thought but is there a way to balance charge all 3 cells, I know you don't need to balance charge a single cell but for when iv got 3 or more connected?????
