My Balsa Products' Tigermoth

Eversince starting this hobby I always look forward to build a balsa airplane on my own. My dream came into reality after I learned how to fly on those foamies and decided to get one of the Tigermoth kits from Balsa Products. But it didn't came that easy, coz when I phoned BP they won't ship the kit to Canada due to some Customs Related Issues.

I believe on the saying "If there's a will... there's a way." I met a fellow ezoner (Warbird Radio) who unselfishly ordered the kit for me and shipped it from Oregon to Vancouver. What a love story eh!

Here's my BP TM before the maiden.

Wingspan : 36"
RTF weight : 20.5 oz
Motor : EPS400C -D
Prop : GWS HD 1060
Battery : Kokam 1500-3s
Covering : Solite

Nice video. Good-looking plane. I'm tired of foam too (flying packing-material). Like Kenny Rogers Roasters says, "It's the wood that makes it good."

Mylon,
You did an excellent job for your first balsa plane and one not for beginners at that. Keep up the good work, waiting to see what you will tackle next!

Glad I could help.

John,

Cant ask for more.. without your help this wouldn't be possible. And of course lots of the guys on the other thread... Ralph, MangyRat, Turbo, RClark... all that I missed thank you all.

Now I'm working on some of the details... landing gears, cockpit, pilot. Ralph provided me the roundel design.

I got here a MM Hellcat, I haven't started it yet. I'm also keeping an eye on the Pilatus Turbo Porter, and the Mountain Model Cessna. But I think I should enjoy flying my Tiggie before I start a new project.

Cheers!
