Nylon bell cranks are now the choice, at least if you are using multi strand led outs.
Good point on the inner hole...but it's all closed up now.
So, how about a longer elevator horn?

The old Q-tee is a good candidate for the "britplan"? i want try a glow model and it looks easy to build and i´ve read that she is a great trainer for glow....

I don't think the Q-Tee qualifies for the Britplan Build Off Rodrigo, as far as I know it was never published as a plan in a British magazine - unless someone can tell me different???

I don't know whether it's publication pre-dated or post-dated the Q-Tee's: who was looking over whose shoulder will depend on which! But then, how many ways are there of designing a small parasol wing model???

The Peacemaker, Aeromodeller, 1958 plans service qualify.

It was designed by George Aldrich conforming to the then UK normal combat model size (2.5 - 3.5 cc) specifically for publication in Aeromodeller.

Pre-dated by a long time. Lorelei was a free pull out plan in the April 1965 edition of RCM.

I guess it keeps readers more interested than the build.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or U/C is too boring.....
Anyway, it's a fun build, remembering to do a few past things, realise changes are always easier to do before you have done something and have to "fix it" , etc.
Just hope Bill gets a few good flights.
Maybe I'll re-cover the Flite Streak for a practice run and get a few laps in?

I’m just about done with the Peace Maker.
I talked with Bill to-day. He might have some model diesel fuel.
Anyway, he said he got out flying and had several really good flights to-day.
Now why didn’t I go out? Darn!
I got side tracked with the Doculam covering and decided that I might try a little of it here.
In fact, this model will have a little of everything. The rudder, stab/elevator are tissue covered,
the balsa fuse is painted, one wing half will be Doculam, and the other plastic. If we don’t like
the Doculam, then it can be covered over with the plastic.
One advantage of the clear covering is that it makes a good covering/protection for the “decal”.

Looking good....

Work continues on the Peace Maker. Bill’s is almost finished. It has Doculam covering on only half of the wing. The model just needs the elevator horn, push rod and single LG leg added.

Also,the engine and tank will have to be fitted.
Working on the second wing should have gone much quicker, but it hasn’t.
I cut the spar depths just a little too shallow and didn’t catch this until gluing in the top spar which is standing maybe 1/100th inch proud.

Not really a problem, but when you know there is an error it just stands out and waves its arms.
Of course this isn’t really a worry on a combat plane!

for bell cranks and flying lines, Nelson plugs and led out wire. Great service. Got the parts all within a week. And much nicer than I had expected.

Bill’s Peace Maker has a Perfect metal bell crank (BC), the only one I had at the time.

Now I have a 3 inch Sig (BC) which is a little larger and took a little/lot, more fiddling to get it installed and moving perfectly. I had to open up the centre ribs a lot more for clearance.

And, Greg suggested that additional braces should be added to the BC mount. This has been done.
