Cool Bri,
sounds fun.... what 8000 mah packs are you running and how are they holding up for you?

I'm looking to grab a set of 6s 25c 8000 mah nano techs to test in my jet legend hawk... don't know if you have the zippy, nano or something else

thanks

Ron I have the 25c nanotechs, I know you are not big on them but they are working great, I'm testing them in this setup before I put them in my YA f-15 ARF with the DS-94 HST. They are holding at 3.43 per cell under serious load and late into an aggressive flight.

I'd love to see what numbers you get with these packs on your 1915 Dynamax! I was hesitant on the HET but I like that it is about 1/2 longer than the 1915 and it has sleeved magnets, I don't know enough about Steve' design on the 1915 but I have heard sleeving the magnets helps when you start hitting higher rpms like I'm doing with this setup.

Hahah, Roger this thing is crazy powerful now!! There is another Falcon at our field with a 16lb turbine on it and mine now performs every bit as good as that one, this fan is really throwing around the airframe, the controls are even starting to feel a bit touchy

Right on bud... that sounds pretty darn good. The price it just to hard to beat
I figure if I break them in, and treat them well the should do fine for me....
I wouldn't mine having a falcon to toy with.... but to many projects

thanks for the info... I feel a set coming in my future very soon

Right on Ron! I baby them, 5 break in runs at 50 amps, always store them after a flying day, never leave them fully charged for more than 2-3 hours, never take them below 3.7, these things are what make the cheaper packs last and work.

Yeah I hear you on projects my garage is freaking nuts right now with 4 120 size jets in the build que and I just got a 40% comp arf extra I'm trying to dial in, conflicted on what to bring to the field each weekend is a good problem to have!

For those of you that have read the whole thread you will see I have had my falcon about a year and have been flying it on the scorpion DynEmax on 12s 5800 with AUW of around 18lbs. (Struts, brakes, cockpit kit all the extras). It has always performed great and was dopplered around 135 or so. But it's just gotten boring and thou it flew nice it sort of lumbered for my taste. So today 3 flights with the Tam Dynamax conversion with the HET 800 series 685kv on 12s 8000 mah!

Old setup was about 15.5lbs of thrust installed, 115 amps 5000 watts and 25,000rpms. New setup is 19lbs of thrust installed, 135 amps 6000 watts and 27,500rpms.

The new setup adds about a lb and a half so I'm guessing its around 19.5lbs AUW but I need to weigh it to be sure.

This setup is a monster, vertical is ridiculous! We estimated a downwind pass at around 160mph ( this setup has a 225mph efflux). It is like a different jet with this setup. After 4min flights I was at only 3.85 per cell so plenty of extra flight time to be had! The acceleration is unbelievable it is off the ground in 75 feet and you can tilt it almost straight up and it climbs out fast!

On the bench we get 135-140 degrees on the back of the motor after a simulated flight, after the flights today it was only 106-109 degrees ( thou it was in the upper 60's lower 70's outside)

I am definitely no longer bored with the falcon, it is a monster with this setup and very reasonable cost wise for a quality higher powered setup.
Is that 19lbs installed in the AS nacelle with a thrust tube?

regards

There's one on RC for 200 with a cc 120 esc and a big screamer prop version...you prolly could talk him in to selling it or hire a courier to take it to a mail office

Yes on the test stand with his inlet ring, 135 amps peak settles in at 130 amps and 18.5 lbs of thrust, it churns out 21000 rpms at only 50 amps at half throttle and runs silky smooth.

The sound is much better than my scorpion DynEmax, this one is louder so it's easier to hear when you get her out there a ways. The DynEmax was to quiet in AS's nacelle but she will make some noise in the dirty ducting of my YA f-18 single!
