To convert to 2.4 Ghz you would need a new control board and they don't make them for this model.
If your an electronic genius It may be possible but would take a lot of effort and custom board design.
These look pretty cool but sadly best left shitting on a shelf these days.
They are too heavy for the cheap brushless motors they come with.
The motors get stressed to the breaking point quickly and pretty soon your big Heli won't lift off the ground anymore.
If they would build these with brushless motors they would likely last a lot longer.
Thing is Coax Copters are viewed as cheap toys and none of the manufactures take them very serious.
They are available in the $600 price range from http://www.tech-sov.com/
I wish more companies would as it would lower the cost and I really enjoyed my big FXD and would be willing to pay for a quality model with upgraded brushless motors and a ECS that could handle them.
A coax however can become very unstable on hard fast turns and come crashing to the ground quickly so I would not invest a lot of money in one unless the design was proven to be stable in quick turns.
I looked into doing this myself but I would need a special flight controller board and ECS designed to drive the brushless motors and they are just not available. The focus is on single rotor and multirotors in todays marketplace.

In other words, you paid what it was worth. The number one lesson you need to learn is if it has a stamped aluminum frame, it's very cheaply made.

1x mixer
1xgyro

By the time you install all those items the thing might not even get off the ground due to the weight.
If it will lift off it probably would not be very responsive to control inputs.

Instead of investing the time and money to resurrect that thing, I believe you would be further ahead to buy a bind and fly, or ready to fly heli.

My 2 cents.
