Simplest VTOL with full forward flight
Tri-copter with 5 motors..
no separate controllers... 8 channel radio... APM 2.5...with 2.8.1...
with front motors on a switch with a dial
left elev ch7.... right elev ch8... with a mix.. from motors on ch6

I like your work, incorporating the tricopter function of vertical take off and the twin motor flying wing.
This is truly a great idea.
Opens the mind up to further design work for streamlining and efficiency.

Even simpler and with only two motors -
Addition, sorry Eddie, just realized this is one of yours, still a brilliant, and simple, design.

Hi Eddie & leadfeather.
I have previously devoted some considerable time and effort to the concept of the VTO aircraft .
After building several vto machines including "Stringflys" sidewinders, which I had some success with , I then built my own design "tailsitters" which worked very well....particularly outdoors in the wind.
These designs were mostly aircraft that could be hovered and then controlled to land on its tail feathers.
A great achievemant in its self and there are many designs that have achieved this goal.....credit given to all the designers.
IMO....Eddie's concept is simple...effective...and under full control as a airplane in forward flight and as a tricopter in the hover mode.
The final concept / design in this challenge will do exactly what Eddie has done....aircraft mode and heli mode in one model.
I am fascinated at what the final design concept will actually look like .
I have two tricopters sitting in the workshop just waiting for a purpose in life.!!!!
This video is only some history of my remaining vto machine still gathering dust in my workshop.....waiting for the next stage of "evolution".
Eddie ...keep going with this idea.....it has good vibe's

Tail sitters are very easy (relatively speaking). Most will blow over if there is much wind; Aussie Pete's is an exception.
Transformers VTOL's (non tail sitters) are cool and challenging. They can handle wind better. So many variations. Eddies' craft is another interesting VTOL design...looking forward to more.
