HLG at night?

Has anyone ever found a way to fly a HLG at night?
To some of you this might sound completely brainless; however to me I fee there is a ray of hope.

I donít mean night flying to speck out a glider but perhaps light lift or using a small slope, to simply enjoy a little extra flying.
Its gets dark pretty early around here and in spite of the cold I still enjoy flying. Of course I should mention I live in the north woods of Lower Michigan so there are larger areas for me to fly in without endangering anyone, or anything.
Any ideas are appreciated.
Thanks
David

I occasionally fly my Alula or Seeker (r.i.p.) in the park near the ballfield lights. No spec-ing, just fun ripping around. Doesn't sound like that'll do you much good in the deep, dark woods.

Sloper guys are installing LEDs in their planes. Full kits with 5 LED lights are about $12 from Canuck Engineering: http://www.canuckengineering.com/sto...products_id=39

The plug right into your rx. Might be fun with a DLG!

I've seen these guys fly on the slope. Pretty cool. I even joined in with some very, very dim glow-sticks -- the skinny kind -- taped to my Alula. Good fun!

Cool pics as always Greg!

I sometimes fly my Alula in parking lots at night. The funny thing about it is that the bottom of mine is black! Oops! Not a problem really.

I can throw it much higher than the lights but you look for the reflection of lights on the bottom of the shiny tape. Works amazingly well. Another thing I've noticed is that the blacktop parking lots hold some heat well after dark and I can get some pretty long flights at night.

I've flown TD gliders at night. I know that sounds weird, but I got really bored. I have a 2x4 that's got a full light kit in it. I've flown over some old parking lots out of town, and got her to stay up for at least ten minutes or so.

Jef O in England posted a message last month on FlyQuiet mentioning DLG night flying.

Well, I've gotten bored, and once I can figure out where my girl has hidden the digitial camera I'll get a pick or two up. But I've added some lights to my little Angel. I needed something to muddle through the clear covering. I've just got a standard LED set up in it, and it only added about a half ounce total (I'm not sure about that number since my scale is worthless). Now to get off work to fly it.
