Viper Q 500 making the change from stock wing bolts to 1/4-20 nylon. Problem is how to drill the holes out keeping the same angle to the saddle threads ? It seems mine is a little off line and the bolt binds up because its not going in straight. Was going to drill all the way through wing an saddle at the same time. I just wanted hear how some others do it.

After I have popped out the metric blind nuts, I have found that no drilling is required - I simply run a 1/4x20 tap through the existing holes (with the wing on) and then hit the threads with CA. I did have to add plywood underneath on a few to add more threads.

Got it all taken care of. Not sure why I started this thread. Common sense would have told me to tap the holes one at a time like mentioned in a 2005 thread. Thanks Kbo and Barry. Duh

RE-tap a second time after the thin CA has cured. It will make the bolts go in and out easier but still hold well.

It's a night and day difference from what it was. I have 1/4-20 nylon in the front and going to leave the back alone but using nylon 8/32 bolts instead of the metal stock ones. If y'all really think its needed, I'll do the back 1/4-20 too.

Your set up is the same as what Bruce Dechastel (www.bigbruceracing) does with his composite Q500 Shotguns and Slingshots, and he probably knows what he is doing by now.
