SO I have the PROEDF F-22 same as hobbyking fiberglass F-22

I want people to respond if they have built and flown one yet. I only saw one video on youtube and its in japaneese. If anyone here has built and flown the F-22 fiberglass from proedf or hobbyking please respond. I am going to start the build and wanted some suggestions. I was going to do a 6s set up but it seems it will be too much weight for this little jet. I have went with the 5s set up with a much less current draw. 60amps per side so total 120amps at full throttle. I went with the detrum 70mm edf combo from hobbypartz.com . I did not want to dump too much into this jet because its draggy and having too much power will not change the speed much because of the draggy frame. SO if anyone has built and flown please respond with your thoughts. I am going to bungee this jet.

I build one and flew with success several time until I forget my timer and missed the runway. I broken the nose and I reorder one.
My setup was two Het 70mm fan with Chinese motor( Hobby king) on 6 s 3300 mah. + 80 amp ESC no Bec a small Rx battery
I used the electric retracts ( we have a paved runway)
Not difficult to fly with excellent speed, duration only 3.5 minute with this setup.
To busy with other project but I will "build " the new one.
Good luck

you bought that 90mm motor from me right?

I have a 120size motor if you need. Having a baby now will limit my rc spending. I had a nice F-15 but the CG was off by 4inches alot of confusion on where it was suppose to be, anyways for this one its 9 on the dot right?

of any of your flights??? I am going to bungee it its just easier to bungee and belly land. This has a nice smooth bottom to land on. I am doing 1 5s 3800mah pack. and will use a small 2cell for the servos and receiver. The elevator design looks little tricky

Hi Sherlock, I have the same HK Pro-Jet F-22 still in the box.

The only person I've seen on rcgroups to have built and flown this jet is "Flip Flop". He was running a Hot twin ARC-28-48-1 4S setup with two 4s 4000mah lipos @ 3000 watts and weighs 7lbs. He said They are a little amp hungry but provide over a 1:1 thrust ratio for this jet.
Last time I spoke with him he had 10 flights on it & that was April last year. If I remember correctly he did a mod to the Elevator attachment points that is an issue with these planes.

I have had a few people ask me about my Prodisign F-22, so I made a video of it today and I apologize about my kids in the back ground and my crappy camera not being able to focus well.

I run two Wemos with Arc 28-47-1 motors, Turnigy 100amp escs and two 4000mah 4s 40c lipos. The AUW is 6lbs 15ozs and still hand launches pretty good, though I dont recommend it, it does have around 30flights on it this way.

The CG in the manual says 90mm which was very tail heavy in my case, I fly at 105-110mm. To get the right CG I had to make a custom hatch on the top to get the batts farther back. You are also going to want strong servos for the elevators at least Hitec 225mg.

You could do standard servos, but I think anything with at least 60oz of torque like the Hitec 225mg which I have in mine would be fine.
