Wicked Powered 50mm Screamer EDF
Here is my build thread on thew new Screamer 50mm EDF
I bought the airframe from: www.hobbyb.com note: the airframe only kit has no control horns or control rods included so you will have to come up with your own. Power system: Wicked 6000 KV motor Wemotec 50mm Microfan Pentium 40 amp ESC Lipo will be a 3S 1800. Don

Here are some photos.
1. No added wire length is needed on the motor/ESC 2. Fan area prep is typical for the wemotec as on the other 50mm models 3. I found the lower hatch was barely glued on so pulled it all off. Makes installation or servo wires and ESC much easier. 4. I did remove a little foam where the ESC is located to make it fit easier. Don |

Here is the thrust tube template I made with centering ring. print out "full size" or "actual size", do not "fit to paper" or similar wording in your print manager.
I will post photo tomorrow of the thrust tube install. Don |

Well just spooled up my ARF screamer kit and the stock fan is really badly out of balance and rubbing on one side.
Never had an EDF unit so bad :-( Lesson learned should have just purchased the airframe. Instead of mucking around with it i have ordered a wemo / het 6000kv setup as i was ultimately going to upgrade anyway. Will have to use throttle management with my 3s 1300 45c batteries |

I'm thinking of moving my Wemo/Wicked 6000 setup from my Skyangel F-16 into one of these so I can use a bigger battery. Any idea if the CG might work out OK with a 3S 2200 up front, like I have in my Skyangel T-45? Or if that would be nose-heavy, how hard would it be to move the fan back? Does the inside of the exhaust duct taper down more narrow as it goes aft (as it appears to do on the outside), or is it the same inside diameter all the way back?
