It's snowing here! Hopefully my new motors should turn up tomorrow as they didn't today. Probably because of the snow. Then I will be back in the game and our new puppy better watch out! (Literally)

Ha, snow for you in jolly ol' England. (lived there 3 yrs, Cheltenham) and here in Michigan, the "Winter Wonderland" we had 60 degrees F here yesterday. No snow yet this year!

You guys are familiar with our lovely weather then lol I know Cheltenham because of the big horse racing festival that's there every year in March. It looks a very nice place to live. The only thing I really know about Ipswich is their football/soccer team.

It is looking very much like it wasn't the motors at all!! But the frame or something. The new motors turned up today and still no success. I wedged a screw driver in behind the culprit motor and it turned the gear so maybe the motor did get too warm and warped the frame or something wasn't quite right from the start? The other motor and mount is perfectly fine. Both the big gears look identical in size so I think it has to be the frame but I can't see anything seedy at all with it.

Hit your local hobby shop and but a new frame. $4.95

When putting it together you will really get to know your MX2!!

Fly it for 5 mins only, and let it sit for 20mins before flying it again.

Ive been flying mine since it came out and the only thing I've had to change was a bent inner shaft when my cat swatted it!!!

So sorry to hear that the new motors didn't solve your problem. Perhaps it is a warp frame creating too much pressure on it after all. Sounds like you'll have the pressure of completely tearing your mCX2 down and rebuilding it from scratch. Good luck to you, sir.

I disagree with this. 20 minute rest? The motors are cold after only a couple minutes. I do agree on the flight time though. I run mine for 5 minutes and will let it rest a few minutes while I am putting the battery on the charger and then fly it again. I can do this over and over with all the batteries I got lol. Its not a long rest period that is saving it, its limiting the flight time that helps to keep the motors from over heating, But everyone has their own way of doing things. Parts are so darn cheap for the thing, I dont think it really matters if you beat the crap out of it and run it till lvc everytime. For the fun factor, its fairly cheap.

Yeah, about the length of a regular flight for a rest period is all that's necessary. 20 mins is kind of extreme... not necessary.

I fly mine 5 to 8 minutes but give it a bit of a break between batts... still on original motors almost a year later (with CF Tail Boom)

Most of us have more than one heli. If you do, then like me you can fly one, let it rest while you take the other for a spin. That way you can have back to back flights without the overheating worries.

This is a long shot, but, the little collar that sits on top of the upper bearing only goes on one way...if you carefully look at it, there is a ridge on it...that ridge is supposed to make contact with the bearing...you may have yours upside down.
