IF 3D is your goal, and you prefer not to spend a lot, then Sketchup would probably be a good first choice (it's free from what I remember).
Once you get through the learning curve of 3D, then you might think it's worth it to shop for a "professional" CAD program.

Good golly! If you want to 'design and work' in 3D then Autocad is the last software you should use.

if you are just using cad for model airplanes and you are good with 2d autocad and you just need to see all complainants fit and work together Then
devcadcam devfuzcam and devwingcam all for 300 euro

it all fits
you get 3d views
sets up code for mach3 for cnc and exports dxf
you can scale it up or down with no problem spars and stringer all stay the same size you setup
make fuz and wing molds exporting as .STL
and is not that hard to understand
