Best Cat for P Limited racing?

I have a Lucas Oil Cat that is starting to crack from crashes. It is fast enough (45 mph range) but doesn't handle race conditions that well. I am looking for a new hull for the running gear. Something that corners better and handles some chop.

Not sure if this fits the class..... But these hulls rock for racing.... Fightercat Cheetah. Now with carbon kevlar reinforcement.

Fightercat Cheetah

The Cheetah looks good. Just wondering, if the boat being larger than the Lucas, would it be slower with just P Spec power? I guess handling is a trade off for speed?

While they show them in stock they dont have any right now. I have one and think it would be too big for p limited. Personally I think a mean machine would be a better choice.

You are right Slick. I( too feel that the Cheetah would be a bit big for a Limited setup.

boat55 puts up a good choice in the Aeromarine Mean Machine. Also the Aeromarine Sprint Cat would work well. Great handling hulls.

The two primary (fast) hulls in our club are the Mean Machine and Sprint Cat.

Mean Machine length

Thanks for all the help! How long is the MM? Kintec lists it at 27 1/4" and OSE lists it at 29.5.

Aeromarine got slow for a while and the owner laid off a bunch of people then he got busy again and had to do all the work himself office and in the shop he is backed up but not going any where.

Owner of my local hobby shop related that message to me.

32" River Cat

I just noticed the 32" River Cat. It is shorter and narrower than the Cheetah. Would it handle oval racing chop or is it mainly for straight line speed?

Slick.
I always had a problem with mine hooking in the turns with a single drive. That was the original Apparition from years ago.
But I've helped Mad Racer build up both a 4s twin & a 6s twin for club racing. They are damn fast in the straights & corner pretty well. But tend they to flip in choppy race water. But he has won a few races with them.
But that's at higher speeds than you will be running with your P limited motor. So it may work.
Surely someone on these forums has run one of your P limited motors in a Rivercat or Apparition & could give their thoughts on it.
