3s 1800 ma 65c w 12x10 folder
I have 2 sailplanes both at 65oz full up weight.
1) 2.5 meter converted F3B Dodgson Camano with 3850 960 kv motor 40 amp speed controller
2) 2.2 meter F3F converted Salangane with 3858 1120 kv motor. 70 amp speed controller.
Both use a aeronaut 12x10 folder with 1800 ma 3s 65c lipo.
The lighter setup 3850 960kv up will not go vertical ( but can do 60o) but is a good setup and runs safely to about 3 min total if you need a light setup.
The 3858 1120kv setup will accelerate straight up vertical ( disappear in about 20 seconds) and do well over 120 ish mph flat - my thrust calculator says over 2:1 thrust to weight ( I belive it). 2 min total run time still safe with a few (300) hundred ma to spare. Insane speed and climb.
20+ min flight times are easy on both
