Sure brings up more and more questions about what's going on with them.

Like, are they training and giving new junior craftsmen the opportunity to make molds? Has a new way of making molds been developed that is quicker and less expensive than before? Don't know, just thinking out loud.

It could be that it's unfinished n just a prototype n not the final version released for sale? who knows....

There is only one logical reason I can think of that any company (in any industry), release a "new" model with significantly less features than it's current line up and going against all their previous well established standards and marketing of a "quality" product with many additional features included (door sequencers just one example of many), - and that's a shift in direction from marketing a quality product, to a price point based business aimed solely at increasing volume. It simply wouldn't make sense otherwise to market a new size/model line up n give it less features than even it's smaller cousins unless you were trying to reduce costs to achieve a lower unit price n hence increase volume by making it "cheaper".

For this reason alone I'd be very surprised if this is the finished model, especially given their history of trying of doing the opposite n trying to pack in more features to increase sales. I hope it's not the case at any rate.

Dunno, just my 2 cents.

I too, do not understand this apparent new offering from FMS.

Bob, all relative .. I agree the Airfield overall is "fantastic" in comparison .. But (I retract) Not fantastic compared to others..

Understood. Sorry if I came off in a negative manner. No offense was meant. I do have 2 of these and I like them. I modded them to accept 4s 4000 batteries.

+1 Gnats I am betting 100% its a 1700 P40 .
This is why , LX has a great P40 at 79" but its a small market and not for everyone .
Hobby King discontunued the 1700mmP40 N , not from interest because at times they really dont care what we want lol , so its gone.
Top Flight Great planes , has production issues with there wood P40 64" , been out and most likley gone for good.
So there is a need at 1700 , a void and FMS never really did there original P40 E any justice at all with no flaps , plastic gear legs , incorrect canopy and so on

Last one shows innovative linear servo driven full span plastic slats that not only slows down landings, but also protects wing leading edge from miner dings and dents.
