That is definitely a centrifugal. Axial flow would have a whole lot more compressor blades. Also a lot more expensive when it sucks a rock off of the runway.

Yes you are right in regard to the compressor, as the standard type used now in commercial turbines are radial flow compressors, but the turbine itself would be axial.

Radial design turbines are being worked on by a few individuals and at the GTBA (Gas turbines builders Association).

rc jet turbine engine what kind of fuel?
I couldn't find internet informed.

I guess diesel fuel?

Some engines are OK on Diesel... but it's dirty.

Along with the list above.... my old AMT lists "Mineral Spirits" as an acceptable fuel. BUT... I think AMT is the only company that allows it.


In the USA almost everyone I know burns Kero. (Jet-A is hard to buy, unless you are at an airport all the time)
