Well I thought I would ask before I ROG. I have a L-39 ready to fly. But using stock ducting. I have a few options on fans DS-94, TJ-120, Dynamax 127, but what I was wondering is if someone has done a good layup of ducting on this model. Not that it needs more weight at AUW is 24lbs with 6800 on tap at 12s. Well I hoping that I will get a chance at breaking the 12s barrier shortly but that is a big issue.

Well if you have ducting let me know I'd like to see yours and get some ideas on how you did it and or if it is available for any of the above fan units.

I think yours will be the first Jeff I'm sure it has flown as electric, but can't think of anyone who has made ducting for it?

Jeff we have one, but have not yet made the ducting for it. The Dynamax does fit, but the inlets are only about 80% FSA.

80% is about like my A-4 Doesn't seem to be an issue at all in the air.

Well, glad to here Jim has one. I here you about the 80% Bob. Well I was hoping that someone may have done some ducts just to get some ideas. I due currently have a 120 unit in there and a extension that goes from the inlets to this extension. It is not smooth as I would like but it can pull air. Well not sure about your Jim but I'm at 24 AUW 6800s 12 full doors, wheel, brakes the works on this model but I'm a 24. I flew my BAE this past weekend and it is at 20 lbs but has a lot more wing.

Jim have you rotated yours yet. Interested in the CG at 105mm from leading edge is this the sweet spot?

Well I'm ready to go as I just made a very tight fitting exhaust duct 120mm down to 90+- about 3.5" as I want a little more static as this thing is going to require a heavy hand and hold throttle.

We have not finished ours yet. It turned out about 22 pounds with 6S5000mAh packs and Scott freaked. So, I will end up finishing it. Weight is very over-rated. All of our big aircraft are 90oz square foot (even as turbines), so it's not a big deal.

Fly Eagle L-39 ready for some more testing and shake down. I will do a couple of runups to test the intakes and also see what kind of watts I'm able to achieve with this intake ducting system. I'm at 80-85% fsa but my ducting flow is not the best possible. But that won't stop me from trying.

If a Salamander will fly at 20 pounds and it has as short of wings if not shorter so this thing should fly just need to keep the speed up.

Nice project, I hope flyeagle have changed there steering mechanism. my rafale's nose leg needed a mod to prevent it from turning when it was retracted. the last thing you want is the nose leg turned sideways when landing.

Wow Jeff she's a real Beauty!! I'll be at Prado Sat about 1pm. Can't get there any earlier cause my son has football practice till 11am, but I'm bringing my A-4 and Spitfire, and a bunch of stuff Blake flies. We are going to do a BBQ as well We're staying till dark and doing some foamy night flying The A-4 has 39 flights on it now It's almost time to replace the rubber on the mains

I believe this is the 1/6.5 scale? not the bigger 1/4?

If so Marvin and Tam did a conversion on the 1/6.5 scale global jets/fei bao L-39. It's pretty close in size to yours...

your is 71" long with a 54" wing Marvins is 76" long with a 57" wing

It looked to fly well on just 11s and 4300 watts with a TJ 100..... so if yours is the smaller version I'm sure it will fly great.

Tam has ducting but for a 100mm fan so that won't really help you much
