Suggestions: Electric twin, balsa plans 40-50inch

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a twin 400 size aircraft, something that looks like a Sunderland etc, and will run on twin 2812 motors and 3s
Can anyone make any suggestions towards suitable plans? I know this is a very vague request, but all I can find is >70inch models which are far too large for my storage!

Thanks,
James

Hi James,

Not a scale model but the Cava flying boat goes really well. Plan available from here:

Cheers,
Nick

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I ended up going with a Drake II by Ken Willard, modified to have twin engines and ailerons instead of the conventional single engine, rudder/elevator/throttle setup.
If I hadn't started cutting the balsa for the drake I would have tried my hand at that Dornier, looks incredible!

Build thread to come soon!

You cant go wrong with a Drake , good choice.

Thanks for the kind words on the Wal. Currently im building another Wal , slightly bigger and more scale.

You can follow the build on this thread :

59'' Dornier Wal , new design

When my prototype has flown i will make the plan available as free-download.

Cheers,

Bart

If the balsa I had bought was suitable I probably would have moved to building the wal instead! Alas my lhs is closed for the owners summer holiday now, so I've got to stick to what I've started!
