I also bind mine with the MQX on its back....binds faster and haven't experienced any ill flying habbits.

Are nanotecs only available from the other side of the ocean?

They are a little bit longer and thinner than the stock battery, but flys ok.

I had a mild crash yesterday, but it popped the pod off the end of the arm (the piece that holds the motor, gears, etc.). I wouldn't have expected it to fall apart like that after something minor. The motor wires are thin and it wasn't just a matter of stuffing the pod back onto the arm.

I think unless the stabilization system of an aircraft also has accellerometers, it does not matter the orientation when binding, as long as it is still. I just measures a signal level from the sensors upon binding to get a baseline of what "stable" is. It has no idea what "level" is. Is this right? Now on my mini pet, I make sure it is level, cause that thing will auto-level when you release the cyclic.

Should work fine, all you need is for it to be still.

I don't think this has been mentioned in a long time.
For the MQx when you turn on the xmtr move the throttle above min.
When you plug the battery in on the MQx it will not bind so you can set it down and then move the throttle to bottom (zero) then wait for it to bind.
Give it some time. This has worked for me from the beginning.

Just got my order in for a new MQX! I was able to resist the multi-rotor for awhile, but I finally caved! Looking forward to flying it this weekend at the JR indoor!

Thanks for the tip. Had not noticed it before and was having trouble with binding.
