There is no direct way to change the keyboard controls, but you could use a Joystick emulator like this one:

Sorry if this has already been covered, but I've been looking for an hour and haven't found a direct answer to my question. Through 120+ pages of this thread, I got a little discouraged looking

I've got a Spektrum Tx that I'm wanting to use to try this simulator out. How do I go about connecting it to my computer? Do I just use one of the USB adapters on HobbyKing? Can I make a cable? Once I connect it, what drivers do I use?

Sorry to seem like such a noob. I've been in RC for many years, and I've been well versed in computer technology for even longer, but this is my first attempt at merging the two.

So far I really like this! The interface is very easy to use and understand, the graphics are pretty good and the attention to detail is amazing!

Now I have a problem with the way that the controls are working:
I can't seem to get them to work the same way every time. Sometimes the model will just sit and taxi in circles, sometimes it seems to work ok, and other times it will seem to be flying just fine and suddenly it will act like all of the trims suddenly got set to extreme positions.

When I tried to fly the heli, it acted like it was recieving all of my inputs about half a second late.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Rocketman, make sure you always turn on the transmitter before you start up flight sim, Im not saying you did not but i have had problems like that , when i started sim first before i turned on my transmitter. Bert

Have you calibrated your transmitter?

I tried calibrating it prior to using it with the Sim. Calibrating a Tx to act like a joystick isn't as comprehensive as it could be, thoughk I may have made some mistakes in the windows calibration wizard.

I tried again, however, and if I made mistakes, I made the exact same ones both times (which is entirely possible).

edit: And, I tried both ways; powering on the transmitter before and after starting the program. Both had the same result

Is anybody looking for any specific model? I could make it, as I've run out of ideas.

FAI S8Ep rocket glider! Slightly larger rocket powered Apogee, takes off vertically and glides back for a spot landing. [6 min limit] No sim has one.

Any rocket glider.

Trying to run R/C Desk Pilot on Xp in a VirtualBox on a Linux host. No joy, any ideas?

The slow stick is just what it's name states. A slow plane built on a stick that is also it's benefit. It is slow and stable and a great plane to learn on. It is also very easy to fix when the need occurs. It is my favorite training aircraft and one that is so much fun to fly I still have one in my hanger and fly it every time we go to the field.

Google some videos, that' s what I'll do (with and without experienced input.) You can get a fairly decent idea by watching different vids in various weather/wind conditions.

Be sure to do your research on measurements, weights, etc. to apply in the aircraft editor... that helps a lot. Davy has the editor setup pretty nice to minimize some of the guess work.

Having someone experienced is best of course... they can always test fly your creation for tweaking the flight physics too.
