permax bl-480/6d

I got a good deal on a permax 480/6d with 30 amp esc on ebay. Would this be a good drop in replacement for the stock permax 400. I was thinking of trying a 6 by 5, or a 5 by 5 prop. Any experience with this...any suggestions?

I was thinking of a 2s or 3s lipo to run it in an otherwise relatively stock easystar with just rudder mods and carbon fiber wing and elevator reinforcement

The 480/6D is quite a bit heavier than the stock Permax 400 and is also larger in diameter, making it a poor replacement for the stock motor in an Easystar. It's also rather inefficient and will heat up quite a bit if pushed (I used one for two years in a wing). A better bet would be to get a 1800-2200kv 400 size inrunner if planning on running 3S packs. One of the sweetest setups that I've seen on an Easystar was a Warp 4 - 4 turn (1800kv) with an APC 6x4 prop and 2100 3S lipos.
