Formosa power system choices

Well I went and did it! totally impulse purchase at my lhs. i bought a GWS Formosa...only $45.00 so what the heck!

I was wondering if I should fly it stock with the 350 system or go straight to another set up??

I have presently have available a spare Hacker b20l 15 that might be fun or another option I have is something I have never tried.. I have speed 280 BB just sitting around and I though that perhaps in a gws D gearbox it might work well...don't really know yet! Any ideas?

I do have a few TP 3S 2100 packs I use in my miniflash and G-ride or I could go the the Kans 950's ( I think I have a couple of dozen around here somewhere)

I just can't decide what do you all think? I KNOW how the Hacker would pull htis plane but I am really interested in your thought about the 280bb in a c or d gearbox.

thanks
Steve D
(by the way.... I am back!)

One other thing...almost forgot...Looks like as with most of the GWS planes the mounts for retracts were included...perhaps I should consider retracts...once again what do you think?

Thanks

I'm going to try my Razor 300 in a D box, on 3 e-tech 1200's or the new CBP 850 if I can get them. After weighing everything I think I can come in around 12 oz, and certainly under 13 (no landing gear) or 14 with gear. MotoCalc predicts 20 oz of thrust and 40 mph.
And If I don't like it I'll just drop the Hacke B20 15L in I've flown Jeffs with this set up and it does rock, I just want to try something different...

I found one too and it should be here today.

I am going to put my Astroflight 010 8-turn in it using a 5:33 GWS box and a 9x7 with TP 2100 3s1p. This combo makes my E-Starter wild so it should work pretty well.

I am going to try an Electron receiver. I am a little scared of the GWS at the speeds this should go. I will put HS-55 on the rudder and elevator and an HS-81 on the alerons.

An HS 55 would work fine for the ailerons....I feel that an 81 is overkill....unless you don't have another 55 availabe.

Formosa....

I am using a Himaxx 4.3-1 in my Formosa, phoenix 25 ESC, FMA M5 receiver and three Cirrus 9gram servos. I didn't put retracts on the plane but I changed the wheel to smaller foam ones. I didn't use the tailwheel either. I just glued the extra control horn as a tail skid. The plane would make any inside or outside maneuver but relatively small to my slimer pattern planes. I don't think the batteries are up to the task since I am using the Parkflyermotors 650 Mah NiMhs. I have some Kans on order and I hope they will be here by the weekend. I've tried the APC 9x6E and 10x4.7SF and I like the first one much better.
