Poll: Actual Republicans donít want to cut or tax anything

A new McClatchy-Marist poll that gave voters a suite of options for reducing the deficit. Democrats in the poll support new taxes but oppose spending cuts. As for Republicans? Well, Republicans oppose everything.

Unlike the overall polling sample, a majority of the pollís Republicans do not support raising taxes on the wealthy. But they donít support any of the spending cuts mentioned in the poll either. Not to Medicare or Medicaid, and not to the tax loopholes surveyed either. Republicans, in other words, donít support much of anything except leaving things the way they are now.

Meanwhile in the no-spin zone, the actual McClatchy poll results

WASHINGTON — Americans clearly want Washington to solve its looming budget crisis, and they clearly reject almost every option to do that, according to a new McClatchy-Marist Poll.

“None of these things are attractive to a majority,” said Miringoff.

Did you read it?.....IT'S THE SAME LINK.......

Republicans oppose every option mentioned in the survey.

“There’s no clear statement of what Republican voters want to happen. There’s opposition to everything,” said Miringoff.

“If you’re a Republican in Congress looking for what Republican voters are telling you, they’re not telling you much.”

Nooooooooooooooooo. You mean I should read it first?

Well, obviously, I read it enough to trace back to the actual poll reporting instead of whatever spin you throw on it. And you? Did you read the original?

And as far as I can see, Democrats opposed every one except raising taxes on the "rich".

Wow, huge difference there. Approve of the one thing that won't substantially help.

Let's just say I misread the thing. What steps other than raising taxes on the "rich" do Dems actually approve of?

I don't really care what those idiots in washington do now. It's too late anyway. Go ahead and raise taxes on a few people, make a few token cuts. It's all bs. The patient is gushing out an artery, and they are putting on a bandaid. Whatever. See you when it all falls apart.

They don't seem to grasp the actuality of what that will mean. Everyone will be harmed, and those who are the favorite recipients of State largesse will be harmed the worst. Those who can produce economic surplus and lead responsible lives will continue to do so on through the hardships, and those who do not will be far, far worse off than before.

Yes, I did. The cliff we're discussing here is far, far taller.

I see. Well, if we go over the cliff, i'm ready to make some money in the market. Can't wait to scoop up well run companies at a discount because of panic selling. I'm thinking a 3 month hold is all I'll need to make a few more grand for more RC plane purchasing.

you're the one that wants to go over the cliff to make a point. How charming.

I just intend to make a little money off of Republican stupidity. Maybe I'll donate the profits to the DNC instead on your behalf.

Hardly to make a point, but to get actual real cuts, not cuts to future increases.

It won't fail, but if it did, there would be collateral damage outside the Empire as well.

That "actually" is an overused synonym for "really" does not mean that "actuality" is synonymous with "reality".
