Even more appealing is that now AS3X technology offers flight mode flexibility so you can choose the level of stability performance you need instantly.

The UMX AS3Xtra is the perfect high-performance indoor ultra micro aircraft for the intermediate to advanced pilot. Available as a BNF Basic all you need to fly right away is your favorite DSM2®/DSMX® transmitter with dual rate options, a 25C or 45C 1S 3.7V 150mAh Li-Po battery and a 1S Li-Po charger. Nice that it's offered as a "Basic", since most people who would be interested in an advanced plane like that probably have 1S 150's overflowing their battery box. Like me.

I wonder how solid the AS3X would make hovers and harriers? These little planes are pretty tricky to try to hover.

I am curious about that too, I would like to fly it w/o AS3X sometimes.

UMX Extra300 3D is a nice indoor flier and I lost it into pieces due to a collision with another EDF bigger plane in an outdoor flight. It brought me lots of fun in the exercise of hovering, in breezy mornings. I believe this upgraded new one shall be better. I'm curious of the same thing. Will it be possible to switch off AS3X by, i.e. gear positions just like AR635? All those UMX planes with AS3X don't carry such an function as I know so far. And intensive usage of 8.5mm blushed motors shall weaken them very quickly. I am also expecting a bit bigger model from HH with 2S drive and AS3X. Personally I have already modified both 1S and 2S by some duplicated foam made in China.

I dont think so, but that would be a really nice feature for most of us I think (myself included).

Just present my own work after losing my UMX Extra300.
I like the modification with 2S 200Mah cell. It's powerful and the plane does edge very well w/o your attention on aileron! If the gain for elevator of this plane is smaller than the pre-programmed for UMX Beast, modification shall be perfect. My next target is to make the wingspan bigger at similar weight so as to achieve slow flight.

What type of covering is used on these profile type foamies? Does is have heat activated glue different than that of typical mono covering?

I bought it from Taobao in China. It's like eBay or Amazon in China. The shop is called TianKongYu Models. Brand is Tianyi. It's the 4th model from Tianyi so we call it No.4 here. With film it costs 20usd and without film it costs 10usd.
I think Taobao(belonging to Alibaba) doesn't work abroad but Aliexpress may help.
