One question, when you send your files to Shapeways do you select the build direction? I sent a few parts in several years ago and could not figure out if there was a way to select build direction, or if there software did it automatically.

Keep up the super work -- Stacker

I've always thought that they print in the 'Z' direction so I rotate my parts accordingly. I really don't know for a fact though. Would be interesting to know for sure.

Ken, you might be right, their build direction is probably determined by the maximum number of parts they can get on to a given foot print.

I will email them before my next order.

Hi Everyone, a weeks work and I have most of the centre section riveted, at least another two weeks I think before I can move on to painting

I decided to put some paint on but got a bit carried away and did more than I planned. I did this to check that what I am doing is ok and also to break the monotony also! At least I am back on the top surface again, bit soul destroying doing so much detail on the underside but it has to be done!

Really pleased with how it looks, there is something very sinister about the black colour

Using Warbirdcolors acrylic which is going on well but will need at least two coats

Your Lancaster would certainly be a candidate for the TOP Scale event held every year in Florida. Graham Mears has won it several times with awesome Cdn builds.
I believe this to be completely competitive with any out there. Doug B

I agree with everything said above. The effect that you are achieving transcends mere superlatives!

What Doug said! Simply amazing. I wish I had even 1/10 of the patience & skill.

The sheen on that black is perfect. Exactly matches what I've seen on VR-A.
