I think I understand that you have a view that a scale Swift should have flaps. I couldn't agree more! There are in my opinion limits to this whole scale fidelity business, and if I was build build another Fox or a Swift, flaps are a definite !

So what airfoils could be used for certain applications, such as light wind floaters or fast lead sleds? How do they compare to more traditional sections such as the RG series?

Sure, increase the lift or reduce the drag, when needed, even at the expense of efficiency, is a key for better performance.

your question is not easy to answer but the answer is: polar dynamics.
with it you know what is best to do and what not to do, in relation to a specific configuration model.

For example on my site you can compare the dynamics polars P12-60 and P12-61 on the fox 2.8m, where the only difference is the weight and consequently varies the wing loading (load variation AB239-1.75).

If you do not have available polar dynamics, very rare I think, you can compare the airfoils through the absolute or experimental polar wind tunnels or virtual wind tunnel, but you must apply the same method.

In all profiles AB I worked to lower the resistance rather than enhance the CL so that the model can run more also, unlike some other profiles, at high NRe.

No, efficency first and lowering drag second (for now).

Speed for me=fun, no speed no fun

Speed specific airfoils are too little 'acro' ,and barely usable on slope (glider).

Very high speed specific airfoils as DS airfoils are for 500k NRe or more, and barely usable on slope.

Acro specific airfoils have too drag for high speed so for fast fly you must go for heavy wing load and more( great fly sure,but in good condition only)

On site you find 'R' (Racing or Root) airfoils for fast and fast acro,
and not 'R' airfoils for acro.
'fast acro' not same 'acro fast'
