New airfoils
Hi,
I'm Andrea, a RC glider pilot in the Dolomites in Italy, there are new series of airfoils (AB-AIRFOIL) and other, online since 2012, available FREE of charge for private use I created in ~1.5 years of work, and 30 years of slope soaring ![]() the site is still under construction but the contents are available. http://airfoils.eu |

Not yet, 's all new and made available online a few months.
I have 2 models under construction, Swift from 3.3m almost finished and a Fox by 4m. http://airfoils.eu |

Most impressive work!
I think I understand that you have a view that a scale Swift should have flaps. I couldn't agree more! There are in my opinion limits to this whole scale fidelity business, and if I was build build another Fox or a Swift, flaps are a definite !Chris |

Sure, increase the lift or reduce the drag, when needed, even at the expense of efficiency, is a key for better performance.

No, efficency first and lowering drag second (for now).
Speed for me=fun, no speed no fun ![]() Speed specific airfoils are too little 'acro' ,and barely usable on slope (glider). Very high speed specific airfoils as DS airfoils are for 500k NRe or more, and barely usable on slope. Acro specific airfoils have too drag for high speed so for fast fly you must go for heavy wing load and more( great fly sure,but in good condition only) On site you find 'R' (Racing or Root) airfoils for fast and fast acro, and not 'R' airfoils for acro.
