A friend of mine has one that is flying very well.
I have one as well, but it has been sitting for a few years waiting to be flown.
Unfortunately this one was pushed aside by bigger sailplanes that came my way.
The only downside that I can think of is the blade style joiners.

What's the problem with blade joiners , have been using them for years (on gliders up two 5mtre wingspan) with no problems. Just make sure wing can not move away from fuzz in flight. Once it slides past the incidence pin you will have a nasty problem.
Cheers Colin

In one word......." Rust"

I use to have a 1/4 scale Pratt Ried that used them and every time I put it together I had to sand the rust off of the blades and if it happened to be a nice warm humid day at the end of the day when I would take it apart it would be tough since rust would have started to form again and make disassembly tough.

And then they don't fit the brass box......
I don't know about in AU but trying to get something "plated" here in the US is far from "cheap".

Guys
I use a good car polish no rust. Have you guys tried a car cut and polish. When the glider is layed up why not keep the blades in the hot water cupboard
Cheers

Colin,
Nothing is "wrong" with the blade joiners. I have them on a few ships already. (Cortina, ASK-23) I know I don't like the clamp that holds them together and it does not work well. On some landings the wings do tend to swing forward.

When I was in NM, I didn't have problem with rust, but since I've moved to the South where there is a lot of humidity, I can only imagine that rust will make it's presence known.
