you can also use a heat gun or hairdryer to expand the air pockets also.....less messy but a little more difficult to do. I've done both depending on the electronics layout in the plane, for instance, if it is too difficult to remove them, I use a heat gun. If they're in pieces, into the boiling water.

You just have to be a lot more careful with the heat gun/blow dryer. Boiling water has a built in heat regulator

So true, and it's very hot when it splashes on you, just be careful with boiling water.
