Tangent Alpina 4001 / Valenta Volcano

Electric version.

I would like to have opinion about these 2 glider.
How they compare ?
Wich one has the best L/D
Min Sink thermal circling
High speed
speed / hight restitution

I would like to do cross country style flying: thermal then go fast to the other.

Can't speak for the Volcano as I haven't flown one, but the Alpina manages this type of flying no probs at all.

I have had an electric Volcano for a good few years now. I use it to thermal and stuff, but I would say it may lean a little more towards the speed end of the spectrum, and the Alpina may have a better L/D. The Volcano has a short fuselage, and some find that that makes it a little "nervous" (I don't). There won't be much difference between the two at the end of the day - a pilots skills would be much more likely to make a difference in all the aspects you mention. I would go for the one you like the looks of !
