do you reckon the Vixen would be hand launchable Scott? So want one (or more!) but I'm worried about grip, with the planes rather non-grippable underside?

<goes off to practise on the 1/48th Airfix one I'm building at the moment>

i agree, HK is awesome!!!!! who else could or would even dream of producing models such as this? HK is coming out with new products almost every day, & the thing i love about HK, is the variety of their products & the price is just too awesome.

I wonder as so many of us on here are interested in the aircraft if it would be possible for Scott to post that the item is now available instead of having to monitor HK site all the time, that way we get a better chance of grabbing one.

Mind you I'm on the site nearly all day anyway..........did I hear someone say addicted!

Yeah, the wheel wells make the Sea Vixen really easy to launch, they are right on G of G and perfect width wise for even my chubby digits.

Nice one.

I'll just need to add some intake dividers.

Man oh man,
De Havilland heaven is HK

I watched a great vid
Sea Vixen XP924 at Oxford 21st August 2011 (9 min 34 sec)
of the real plane this is representing and what a machine that is. This will be a standout anywhere it flies. Another unique model well done.

ooooh... that makes it VERY interesting Are any special gymnastics required for hand launching; or does it just fly with a good firm toss?

Already wondering how easy it would be to convert to a FAW1 (without the boom extensions) - always fancied this all black Black scheme!

It's a boomer. A good firm toss should be all that's required with all that wing area and not a lot of weight.

Yeah, spot on, loads of wing area, no more difficult than the Vampire, good shove and she is flying.
