Very sweet looking bird. And yes I would be interested in some weathering classes.

I'll be looking for it at SEFF.

Been thinking about doing something, just not sure what. Total time to complete this bird like you see it was around 25 hours for the detail after the model was built. Took me a total of ten days from start to finish. We will see you at SEFF in a week.

OK, just two more pics right now as my wife is holding the frying pan over my head thinking I need to be fixing stuff around the house.

Setup is below:

Power 46's (2)
Master Airscrew 3 Blade 12x8's (at the moment) (2)
E-flite 60 Amp ESC's (2)
Thunder Power 4450 4S extreme batteries (2)

This power system is pulling 49 Amps at full throttle showing 715 watts per side.
I have Master Airscrew 3 blade 13x8's to test later today. My goal is for around 60 Amps at full throttle and around 960 watts per side.

Plane weighs 17 pounds 4 ounces ready to fly. I had to add 8 ounces of lead shot to the nose because I could not put the rx battery in the nose due to the cockpit kit. Also the batteries I am using are very long and throwing more weigh behind the CG. They are alos 8 ounces heavier than what is recommended in the manual. After flying some of the factory prototypes at upwards of 15.5 pounds, I am very happy with my weight. The plane should handle very nicely, it was too light before I personally believe for a warbird. As light as it was, it was a very sweet model to fly. At this weight we might see it snap if you get it too slow or screw the pooch in the turn, but it will sag like real brids due on final and in the turns which is what I like.

JR 921 receiver with (2) remotes
9303 2.4 TX. I am not using the twin engine feature, just "Y"ing the ESC's into the throttle channel
2400 mah rx battery (JR Extra pack) (1)
JR 821 digital servos on: Ailerons (2), Flaps (2), Nose Wheel Steering (1)
JR 351 micros servos on: Rudders (2), Retract valve (1)
JR 8231 digital servo on: Elevator (1) (didn't have any more 821's lying around)

With ten servos on board I am using a receiver pack.

Hope that helps.

John

"30 Seconds over Tokyo" I love that movie! That's where I first saw the "Ruptured Duck" nose art!

Yep, great movie. I read the book in 6th grade as well. I took the nose art scheme from a museum piece. I honetly believe it is a bit over done and incorrect. Not sure, just speculating. My graphics guy duplicated the art work perfectly from what I gave him. Overall though, it looks pretty good.
