The Skyfun is essentially the exact same airframe, just a little bigger.which means it can accommodate a bigger power system

you can upgrade the power system but you can't upgrade your hand throw force - so if you want to go nuts with it, expect landing gear or bungee launch to become mandatory.
And whatever you do - don't crash it, it's EPS! (Eeeps!)

For me - I have a lot of effort and data collected on the PKJ and the Need for Speed Campaign. I don't really want to change to a different airframe having got this far.

The Skyfun is same design but a) I'm told different manufacturer, b) EPS, c) bigger with different power concerns, c) so far slower in all examples I know of.

The Need for Speed guys need the PKJ back again ... blimey I'm just in the throws of the twin engine version ... c'mon HK !!

My problem is whatever pack I use - I'm pushing past their operating limits. I may try nanos again ... but like I say - I never had any good from them. First few flights OK ... then steady quick decline to useless ...

Hi Nigel,

Yep Nanotechs they are. I have loads of them, in various sizes and not had a problem with any of them. Some get worked fairly hard too, especially the 2200's I use in my 3D planes, not noticed any drop in performance from them, some must have 30-40+ flights on them by now. I only ever charge at 2c though, always been a bit dubious about the 10c they can apparently handle?

Maybe you were just unlucky?

I didn't know the kits had been abandoned.
Glad I have 2 left

I love this plane with a casual setup.
It lasts a while that way and man it flies well.

This and the little 50mm edf Screamer are a fine pair of planes.

Mines ready for a maiden flight. I can't wait. Need some better weather and some long grass. The stock 5x5 prop was out of balance (no wonder the stock motor mounts fail) but with a little work its revving up smooth now. Just on a 2s its got some guts to it.

Following sent to Hobbby King ....

Dear HK,

Along with many others in the RC Groups and Wattflyer.com Need For Speed groups - we are dissapointed that the Parkjet Kit is no longer available.

This small model has been the mainstay of the Speed group. Speeds over 200km/hr are commonplace since group formed.

The PnF version is not suitable for us as we do not require the power set-up, as we power these models in our own way and with own motors / ESc etc.

Can you advise when the Parkjet Kit will be available again ?

Best Regards
Nigel C. Luther

C'mon guys ... the more we push them - the more chance of getting them back again ...

Cheers
Nigel

Hi,The mould is no longer available due to the injection factory closing downand the government seizing the equipment for auction to pay the debts of theinjection factory.
We do not wish to spend the money to open a new mould as it is quite
expensive.
We have another design right now that will be produced soon that is cheaper
and a better product.
