Hirobo Quark: Anyone still flying one ?

My packs from two years ago are kinda puffy so I ordered new TP 2s 480 25C batteries and soldered the stock Quark connectors on them. Measurements were accurate and the new packs fit in the stock cage just like the factory batts. The old bird still flies well but the tail wags more than I remember. Not bad, but more than I remember after upgrading to the two bearing tail tube.

Lots of us still fly Quarks. They last forever. I sure could use a motor with a little more power, though. Mine's over 5 years old and getting kind of tired.

Parts anywhere ?

Thanks for the reply. Lol... if you fly yours as much as I do, it's been a good investment !

Does anyone know if the double bearing tail shaft upgrade is still available ? I have two Quarks and only upgraded one of them. Perhaps it's possible to install a custom second bearing on the original shaft ? I don't recall what it looks like.

MRC used to be a distributer for these but I got a big 0 when I searched their webpage for Hirobo Quark.

Check the SRB Quark thread here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...4#post24405524

TMoore seems to think your local hobby shop can order parts from MRC.

I emailed MRC support and verified that you can indeed have your LHS order parts for you.

Did Hirobo quit making these? Whatever happened with the CP version? I have a quark in a box someplace too. Moving 7 times is not good for keeping track of toys.

They stopped marketing them outside of Japan due currency exchange rates. They still make both versions and you can still get parts. The CP version is around $800 though.
