Usually with a trimmer engine conversion you would go for a plane with a short nose on it, such as the WWI planes for example. usually one had to add lead weight to the front of a plane to get them to balance on the CG, but with a converted trimmer engine and the magneto, then you have less of a problem with nose weight.
Our local hobby shop has a large giant scale Fokker D-VII that has a large magneto equipped gas engine in it on display out front. So even those types of planes would work too.
