just lasercut 2 wooden frames, 1 to fit the foam frame. and some tries on a motor mount.
soon going to test the foam frame, but I am afraid it is too heavy...

very nice looking frames. i must check my local hobby shop to see if i can pick up one of those laser cutting machines for couple dollars (yeah right!). are those motor holders wood too, or cf? if possible can you show some closeups of those holders?

motormounts: Left To Right: 1. goes on top of 4 for added strength. 2. goes around the motor and the arm, is open so the wires wont break when you land on them. 3. same as 2, just smaller. 4. goes around the motor and glues to an arm. 5. glues on an (wooden) arm so you can zip-tie a motor to it. 6. (can't remember exactly) flues to an (wooden) arm and motor glues in here.

I'm so aggravated at my friends these days. None of them are agreeing to buy a laser cutter for me to borrow. I haven't even bothered to bring up the makerbot.

I hooked up my 716, 1mm shaft, thin white and black wire Mike Guo motor with UDI prop (56mm?) and a lipo running 4.1v. This is what I got:



Sample rate is 96 kHz. The major peaks are from 42415 to 45206 Hz which would give a 2 bladed RPM of 21207 to 22603. Which would be decent I think if it's accurate.

which I think it is the same motor as above.

I received them and they weigh about 2 grams.
They are about 2/3 the size of the 929 motors.
With a 4 1/2" prop at 3 volts I get 2 grams thrust at 2200 RPM.
With a 4 1/2" prop at 4 volts I get 3 grams of thrust at 2500 RPM.
With a 4 1/2" prop at 7 volts I get 5 grams of thrust at 3200 RPM.

With a 929 prop at 4 volts I get 2 grams of thrust at 1800 RPM.
With a 929 prop at 7 volts I get 4 grams of thrust at 2200 RPM.

It takes approximately 3600 to 4000 RPM for the WL929 to lift off
so this motor has a KV that is too low for our use.

it looks like it uses two of the same 8pin dual transistor chips that the S026 PCB uses for is four motors.

Ok guys been a little while since I stepped in this thread, for those looking at the 2.4Ghz chinook......

V929 quadcopter board in S026 tandem coax (1 min 37 sec)

About an hour and a half ago I soldered up the 4 S026 (nonG) Syma Chinook motors to the corresponding motor rotation outputs of the V929 board and whad'ya know, it flew! Had to set the 9958 Tx on low rate to stop it tryin to make the S026 backflip but it works!

Before I can put the body back on I'll have to either buy a smaller V939 or Syma X1 board or mount this bigger LED version of the V929 board sideways, I'll have to resolder or add a switch to the Tx to swap pitch and aileron channels around.

Ok. The motor talk stopped abruptly, and now I'm trying to figure out which motor people settled on was their favorite. Anyone care to enlighten me? Also, I'm interested in hearing about the syma boards.

There is a new rx board to be confirmed compatible with 9x (FlySky protocol).

Now there are two new boards in the running... was about to order another v939 board, but going to hold off till we see what these are like.

Supposedly the symas are good development platforms, very stable.


I've seen mention of an updated parts list with UDI props and new motors in the OP, but can't find the links to those either...
