tri-pacer I usually use epoxy thinned with alcohol for fuel proofing engine areas, there is still a lot of oil to deal with. I have a few single channel planes. The first flight can be a challenge if you have too much wing incidence the plane will want to loop so you end up with turning that into a spiral climb like a contest model( you hope  )
colibri I agree with simple color trim. I had planned to paint the fuselage but now I see it covered I like the way it looks mostly tissue colored.
I am glad I chose this design, it has produced a very nice looking little plane.
