Managed to get the wing built. The pic shows it in place, still needs final sanding. The nose has been shaped ready for installing the diesel power, time to think about covering materials.

A little more progress. I have started doping the tissue covering but the weather is not cooperating so I will have to wait a couple of days to finish it. I will not add much color trim until after test flying. I have forgotten if nitro dope needs fuel proofing for diesel fuel, any suggestions?

I think nitrate dope is usually OK with diesel fuel, if the exhaust residue isn't left on the surface for a long time, however, I would certainly want to fuel proof the engine bay and immediate surroundings.

A light coat of epoxy wouldn't hurt around the engine mount and immediate areas. Diesel fuel isn't aggressive because it doesn't have the nitro, but it can still "soak in" if you're not careful. By the way, VERY nice looking model!!
Never been brave enough to fly single channel (at least not on purpose), looking forward to your flight test!

tri-pacer I usually use epoxy thinned with alcohol for fuel proofing engine areas, there is still a lot of oil to deal with. I have a few single channel planes. The first flight can be a challenge if you have too much wing incidence the plane will want to loop so you end up with turning that into a spiral climb like a contest model( you hope )

colibri I agree with simple color trim. I had planned to paint the fuselage but now I see it covered I like the way it looks mostly tissue colored.
I am glad I chose this design, it has produced a very nice looking little plane.
