it's not the resin that goes hot........it's the chemical reaction between the resin and the catylist.......and even using a low percentage of catylist to resin to make a slower reaction time, you will still get heat, and no amount of "barrier cream" or other barrier agent will stop a reaction between styrene and resin if it wants to get through..............DO YOU WANT TO TAKE THAT CHANCE even if only 25% when other methods can be used........I know I wouldn't.

Epoxy does not stick to styrene very well. An example is after mixing and using epoxy in a styrene cup (not foam plastic) let the remainder set up in the cup. After dry you can just pop it out and the cup is ready for another batch. Poly resin will eat foam plastic such as used by the r/c aircraft guys. Epoxy won't. Do use a barrier such as vasiline or a wax to make removal easier.
